Does This Blog Make Me Look Fat?

Yesterday Bill and I took a drive up to Bartlett Lake and the Carefree/Cave Creek area. It had been a few years since I’d been in that part of town. We started at the lake, took in The Boulders resort in Carefree and stopped for a cool drink at The Horny Toad in Cave Creek. I like Cave Creek. It’s quaint and rustic, and a lot of that has been disappearing lately around here.

We boogied through the Painted Desert (another planned stop for the trip back).

Got our kicks on Route 66.

Came across some trivia for those of you who are fans of “Saving Grace” about 50 miles east of Oklahoma City.

Pretty uneventful trip so far. Didn't make it to Winslow with enough daylight for pictures so we'll have to hit it on the way back. Dinner at Denny's. On the road again at 5 AM. Destination Oklahoma City.
